About Swiftstrike
Swiftstrike is a Swedish defence-technology company. We build hardware and the
AI software that runs it — from edge to command. Our products are developed with
experienced operators and refined through real-world field testing, and everything
we build is designed to be cost-effective at scale and priced for fielding in numbers.
The role
Our systems make decisions with real consequences. Proving they work matters as
much as building them. As our Senior Test Engineer, you will own verification and
validation across the product line — our hardware and the perception and autonomy
software that runs on it. The same software stack
runs in our fielded systems and in our simulation environment, and you will test
in both: hardware-in-the-loop rigs and automated regression in the lab, digital-twin
scenarios in simulation, and environmental and live trials in the field.
You will define what "tested" means at Swiftstrike, then build the infrastructure
that enforces it.
What you'll do
- Define and own the test strategy for integrated hardware and software systems, from unit level to full-system field acceptance.
- Design and build hardware-in-the-loop rigs for our hardware and edge compute.
- Build automated test pipelines for the perception and autonomy stack, including regression testing in continuous integration (CI) against recorded and simulated sensor data.
- Use our simulation and digital-twin environment to validate behaviour across scenarios that are impractical or unsafe to reproduce live.
- Plan and run environmental testing — thermal, vibration, ingress, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) — with partners and labs.
- Plan and lead field trials with operators, and turn what you observe into reproducible test cases.
- Own test documentation and traceability for customer acceptance and qualification.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of test, verification, or validation engineering on complex embedded, robotic, or mechatronic systems.
- Strong test-automation skills — you are comfortable writing Python (or similar) to build the tooling you need.
- Hands-on experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing and lab instrumentation.
- Familiarity with multi-modal sensor systems — such as electro-optical, RF, or acoustic — and what makes them hard to test.
- Rigour about coverage and traceability, and realism about field conditions: mud, cold, and time pressure.
- Willingness to travel for field trials.
- Professional fluency in English.
Nice to have
- Experience testing defence or aerospace systems.
- Simulation-based validation of autonomy or perception software.
- Experience working under safety or qualification standards (e.g. MIL-STD environmental test methods).
- A background from the armed forces or from defence procurement.
- Swedish language skills.
What we offer
- The systems you validate protect people on the modern battlefield.
- Ownership of an entire discipline — you define how a defence-technology company tests, from day one.
- The same stack runs in simulation and in the field, so your findings close the loop quickly.
- A lab-equipped office in Stockholm, plus time in the field with the systems.
Given the nature of our work, employment may be subject to a security review and
to citizenship or residency requirements applicable to Swedish defence industry.
We will discuss this openly during the process.
